Financial aid distributed among SHGs

DIBRUGARH, Feb 25 - The Assam Gramin Vikash Bank (AGVB), Dibrugarh zone today distributed financial assistance to around 49 Self Help Groups of the district to improve their income generating activities so as to attain economic stability.

The financial assistance were given away during a financial literacy campaign organized at the conference hall of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) here. The programme was attended by S Natarajan, the Chief General Manager, NABARD, Assam; Shiv Sankar Singh, Chairman, NABARD; Ravindra Kumar Reddy, Deputy General Manager, NABARD and other officials of NABARD and the AGVB.

The Self Help Groups were given away assistance amounting to rupees 30,000 to one lakh. The Chief General Manager while addressing the beneficiaries stressed upon utilizing the financial assistance judiciously to empower themselves as also improve their standard of living.
