GUWAHATI, March 20 - Filmmaker Nimananda Das will make a film on the life and works of Padma Shree award winner conservationist Jadav Payeng. Adapted from the novel Roomyang by Gobin Kumar Khaund, the movie will go the floors very soon. The title will be Roomyang, The Forest Man.
�His (Payeng) story is a fascinating one especially in the context of efforts he had put in to create a forest on his own. It�s an incredible story of a superhuman whose love for Mother Earth and Nature is unparalleled,� said Das.
�We had planned to shoot the movie from April, but due to the coronavirus scare, things would be delayed a bit,� Das said.
Actor Pabitra Rabha who will play the lead role, said, �It is an honour for me. Having been given the opportunity to play the role of a person whom I admire is itself a challenge.�
