Film on �Abo Karo� released

AALO, April 28 - AS Production Unit Aalo released a film on �Abo Karo� at Army Cinema Theatre here with a small function on Saturday. The film produced by Lee Sora and directed by Adham Munglang is based on the myths of Abo Karo, stated a press release issued today.

Attending the function as chief guest, Kento Ete, the ex-minister, said such film based on folklore and mythology should be produced to infuse a sense of pride among the local young generation to delve into the state�s history and literature through cinema.

Film on social taboos prevailing in the society can also do wonders to dispel darkness.

Mogi Ori, chairman, IFCSAP and Jumde Yomgam, chairman, Mothers� Vision, attended the function as guest of honour and special guest respectively to give useful tips on the role of cinema.

The production unit gave their thanks to Er Kirba Sora, president, GWS, West Siang, advocate Kenbom Bagra and others for their cooperation in making the film.

Women body meets rape victim: The Arunachal Women Welfare Society led by its president Marbom Bagra has vehemently condemned the rape of a 12-year-old girl at Kamba on April 19 last. The all-women team went to Kamba and interacted with the victim and her family members on April 25. The team also assured the victim�s family of taking up the case, stated a press release.

The apex women wing of the district expressed its anguish over the way a mentally retarded minor girl was treated. In a strongly worded letter to the district administration and police, APPWS has termed the incident a heinous crime and demanded exemplary punishment to the perpetrators.
