By STAFF Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 20 - The fifth edition of Bajaj Electricals Pinkathon Guwahati-2019 presented by Colors was announced by supermodel-actor and Pinkathon founder Milind Soman in the presence of a distinguished gathering here on Thursday.

This year in Guwahati, the run will be kicked off at the Sonaram High School playground on November 17.

Pinkathon is Indias biggest run for women to encourage and promote fitness and health and create awareness for breast cancer and other issues relating to womens health. Over 2,75,000 women have so far run in the last eight years across multiple cities.

The online registrations for the multi-category run is open at www.pinkathon.in/guwahati for the 3 km, 5 km and 10-km runs and for the 21-km race category.

As a one-of-a-kind initiative, every single participant at Pinkathon Guwahati-2019 can choose to avail of a free gynaecologist consultation from the organisers medical partner GNRC Hospital or a free mammogram if the participant is above 45 years of age.

The mascots were also announced today Dolly Rajbongshi, a visually-impaired runner, for the 3 km race category; Dr Shilpi Kropi, a baby-wearing mother, for the 5-km run; and Purabi Kalita, a cancer conqueror, for the 10-km category.

We are very excited to bring Pinkathon to Guwahati for the fifth time. Pinkathon has carved a niche in being more than a marathon. While we conduct Pinkathon once a year in all the key cities, it is now being the seed of change. It is a movement that is carried forward by a growing community of empowered women across India through the year, Soman said.
