SHILLONG, June 30 - 58 Gorkha Training Centre here today remembered one of its finest Generals, Field Marshal SHFJ Manekshaw, popularly known as �Sam Bahadur� on his tenth death anniversary.
The Centre organised a wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the death anniversary on June 27. Col MS Mahar, Deputy Commandant 58 Gorkha Training Centre and all ranks paid homage to the Field Marshal at Manekshaw Memorial, Happy Valley here.
Sam Bahadur was a great military leader rated as �first amongst equals� and was at the helm of affairs during the decisive military victory against Pakistan in 1971.
