DIGBOI, May 29 - The detection of a 42-year-old female COVID-19 positive patient with no travel history has baffled the Tinsukia district administration as well as the residents here. Santana Das, the wife of Gurudev Das from Digboi Muliabari area in Digboi, was found positive for COVID-19.
�She had been complaining of cold and fever for the past few days and had been visiting the AOD Hospital for treatment when she finally tested COVID-19 positive,� said a family member of the patient, adding, �she has been shifted to AMCH, Dibrugarh for further treatment.�
Das did not have any travel history nor did she go out to market, said family sources.
However, she went out for a walk in the morning regularly and sometimes purchased vegetables and fish from hawkers. Of late, a few daily wage labourers were also engaged in her house for some works.
Meanwhile, the Tinsukia DC through a circular has declared the said area near Gauri Automobiles a containment zone and has put restrictions against any kind of human and vehicular movement till further order.
