GUWAHATI, Dec 3 - A daily-wage labourer identified as Kafiran Begum died while three others had a narrow escape after they were trapped in the soil they were digging to construct a guard wall at Kahilipara this afternoon.
The labourers, including Kafiran Begum who was declared dead at the hospital, were engaged by Bhabesh Das at Krishna Kanta Handique Nagar of Kahilipara to construct the guard wall.
Police sources said that the four labourers, including three women and a man, were rescued with the help of the local people and shifted to hospital. But Kafiran (45) succumbed to her injuries. She was a resident of Dhubri.
The other three injured have been identified as Kasim Ali (25), Sanika Bibi (27) from Dhubri and Asiran Bibi (27) from Kharupetia.
