TURA, Sept 3 - In a shocking sexual assault, a biological father raped his 10-year-old daughter here.
The victim reported the matter to her mother who thrashed her husband and later kicked him out of the house. However, two days later she asked him to come back to the family.
The matter would not have become public but for a post on social media bringing the incident to light. SP, West Garo Hills Dr MGR Kumar was informed of the matter and a team from Tura Women Police Station reached the house of the victim.
�The parents of the victim were away. They, however, surrendered last evening and have been taken into custody. We are questioning them on the matter,� said Dr Kumar. Subsequently, the mother filed a complaint on the sexual assault today, leading to the arrest of the father of the victim.
�The accused has been forwarded on charges of sexual assault. He is currently in judicial custody,� said Dr Kumar.
