TURA, June 25 - A father impregnated his daughter before he absconded after stealing money from his wife and mother-in-law in Teteng Aja locality here. The case was reported in May but the culprit is yet to be caught.
According to police, the matter came to light after the girl complained of stomach pains and was taken to Tura Civil Hospital. The doctors, upon knowing her state, informed the police. However, before the father could be arrested, he absconded, taking all the money he could find at home.
�A case has been registered in Tura Women�s PS and a search is on to nab the father. He has been raping his daughter since she was nine,� said SP, West Garo Hills, Dr MGR Kumar.
The accused father has been booked under POCSO Act in Tura Women�s PS.
