GUWAHATI, Aug 18 - Police today detained one Nayan Kalita (27) for allegedly kidnapping his own one and half-month-old girl child in the Birubari area.
Bipin Medhi, the officer-in-charge of the Bhangagarh PS, said Dhristismita Kalita (19), mother of the child, filed the complaint against her husband. The incident took place on Friday and the police rescued the child this evening from a house near the TB Hospital here, owned by a relative of the accused.
