Farewell meeting held in Demow College

SIVASAGAR, Aug 20 - Dr Prafulla Hazarika, HoD, Economics and Hitesh Changmai, fourth grade employee of Demow College were given a hearty farewell by the teaching and non-teaching staff and the students of Demow College recently.

The meeting held for the purpose was presided over by Dr Devakanta Phukan, principal of the college. Dr Phukan recalled the contributions of the Dr Hazarika in overall development of the college besides his academic works since its inception.

Dr Hazarika thanked his colleagues for their friendship and cooperation during his service period and wished that Demow College will ascend to new heights through the dynamic stewardship of Dr Devakanta Phukan. The teaching staff presented Dr Hazarika and Changmai, sarai, sador and books. Polash Sarma, lecturer, Department of History, read out the felicitation plaques.

Spl programme: Under the initiatives of Engineering Limited India (EIL) and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) free hearing aids, wheelchairs and tricycles were distributed among specially-challenged people recently. All the district administrative officials including Deputy Commissioner Narayan Konwar and District Development Commissioner Abhijit Baruah were present at the camp . On this occasion, the Divyang District Sports Development Association�s members including general secretary Isaaq Ali, coordinator Lutfur Rohman and assistant general secretary Saumya Bhagavati also inspired the specially challenged people with their presence. This was stated in a press release.
