Family members of Arunachal COVID-19 patient test negative

ITANAGAR, April 3 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today that all four family members of the lone COVID-19 patient of Arunachal Pradesh whose swab samples were sent for laboratory tests, have tested negative.

�After the first positive #Covid19 case in Lohit, four of his immediate family members sample were collected and sent for test. The result of all four is Negative,� Khandu tweeted.

The 31-year-old non-tribal man hailing from Medo area under the Wakro circle of Lohit district who attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi last month, on Thursday tested positive for COVID-19. He is undergoing treatment at an isolation ward in the Zonal General Hospital at Tezu.

Test results of six more non-Arunachal persons who took part in the congregation, were found negative, Khandu wrote in his Twitter account.

The Chief Minister stated that out of the 80 samples collected so far in the State, 61 have been found negative, one positive and results of the remaining 18 samples are awaited.

Meanwhile, Khandu called upon the people of the State to light candles, diyas, torches or mobile flashlights at their doorsteps or balconies on Sunday next at 9 pm for nine minutes, as appealed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a video message to his countrymen today, to display the country�s collective spirit to defeat the coronavirus pandemic.

Tweeting the ancient Indian mantra, �Asato ma sadgamaya, tamaso ma jyotirgamaya (Lead us from ignorance to truth, lead us from darkness to light)�, Khandu wrote: �This Sunday on April 5 at 9pm for 9 minutes, let us all unite to let the light of unity, light of our collective resolve be illuminated all over us!�
