AGARTALA, Oct 9 - Congress general secretary Luizinho Faleiro has been retained in-charge of Congress in Tripura a day after shunting him out of present responsibility, according to party sources.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has been made in-charge of party affairs in Tripura and Manipur replacing the incumbent partys general secretary for NE states Luizinho Faleiro amidst allegations of nepotism and abetting factionalism on October 8.
On the following day, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal declared that the party president (Sonia Gandhi) has decided to retain Faleiro as the in-charge of Congress in Tripura, while Gogoi has been given the responsibility of Manipur and Sikkim as party in-charge.
Ousting of former Goa Chief Minister from Tripura was widely welcomed as he did nothing to boost the organization for the past two years instead he is accused of indulging factionalism. Many believed, Faleiro has been removed following a bunch of complaints but a seasoned politician has proved them wrong as he is back with a bang.
Gogoi would continue to see West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar Islands with additional charge of Manipur and Sikkim while Faleiro would oversee NE states including Tripura, according to the latest press released by Venugopal.
