SILCHAR, June 17 � Based on intelligence inputs, a platoon of the E147 battalion of CRPF seized counterfeit currency notes and arrested a man called Nurul Huda Mazumder (40), son of Fazal Huda Mazumder from Chechri village under Borkhola police station in Cachar district. The CRPF also recovered a handmade pistol and seven small packets of powder which are suspected to be drugs.
JK Verma, Assistant Commandant of the CRPF led the search operation along with sub-inspector Sher Singh Teron of Borkhola Police on Monday night at around 10:30 pm which continued till Tuesday dawn. �Five fake currency notes worth 1 million dollars and four fake notes worth 100 dollars were seized during the operation,� Verma said. Later, the man was handed over to the Borkhola Police.
