Fake job racket busted in Nagaland

KOHIMA, April 1 - Kohima Police has busted a fake job racket and arrested nine accused, including four women in this connection, police said today.

Acting on an FIR lodged at South Police Station here by the official of Special Branch (Police Headquarters) regarding fake appointment order issued to a Naga candidate for the post of constable, the Kohima Police initially arrested one Medemyanger subsequently followed by arrest of Noklomeren Imsong, said Atu Zumvu, PRO of Kohima Police.

After the arrest of Noklomeren, he was thoroughly interrogated and based on his statements, seven others were also nabbed. They include Yimlei Phom, C Tiakaba and Longpochang Ao. The four women arrested are Kilamzaile, Zachano @ Abeni Ngullie, Achila Kapfo and Aosenla Chang.

Sources said that during investigation it was ascertained that a fake appointment in Nagaland Police order was delivered for an amount of Rs 2.8 lakh by forging the signature of the appointing authority. The amount was shared among some of the members of the racket.

Police said it has also been ascertained that several deals were made by them in connivance with the main accused Aosenla Chang by charging lakhs of rupees from aspirant candidates for the appointment to the post of constable in Nagaland Police.

During search and raids carried out at accused persons houses, several job applications along with educational certificates including two fake appointment orders and official seal of Superintendent of Police (Intelligence Branch) Kohima was recovered.

The accused have been charged under various sections of law for committing forgery, bribery and criminal conspiracy while a criminal case has been registered at Kohima South PS against them, police added. � PTI
