Fake examinee caught in medical entrance test

SILCHAR, July 17 - Police arrested a fake examinee from GC College while he was attempting to give proxy of a candidate in the medical examination conducted by the Dibrugarh University for admission into MMBS and BDS courses.

It may be mentioned that, one Subhash Vishnoi from Jaipur, Rajasthan, sat to appear for the entrance examination at GC College for Priyanku Protim Boruah who hails from Guwahati.

Mridul Bordoloi, associate professor of Dibrugarh University who is the observer for the examination, said, �The case of impersonation came to light when the invigilator Sanjay Swargowari found that the image of Priyanku in his admit card did not match with the candidate sitting against his roll number in the examination. Immediately the matter was reported to the centre in-charge of the college and the fake candidate was handed over to police.�

Bordoloi informed that there were a total of 721 candidates out of which 697 candidates appeared in the examination.

Interestingly, Subhash Vishnoi confessed that he was a proxy candidate for Priyanku. �I have never seen the candidate. The deal was made for Rs 60,000 which was transferred to my account,� Vishnoi said.
