Fairyland High School emerge champions

GUWAHATI, March 13 - Fairyland High School annexed the GSA U-15 Inter School Cricket title for the Munindra Ch. Paul Memorial Trophy defeating Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya by 44 runs in the final at the Latasil Playground here today.

Electing to bat, Fairyland High School batsmen put up a competitive total of 204 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their stipulated 30 overs. Rubul Chetri top scored with 29 runs off 13 deliveries including five hits to the fence while Ajay Pandit contributed 23 runs off 33 balls which featured three boundaries. For Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bobby Singh picked up three wickets for 38 runs in his six overs while Rupak Singh scalped two wickets for 18 runs in his six overs.

In reply, Hindustani Kendriya boys were bundled out for 160 runs in 30 overs. Gurpreet Singh top scored with 41 runs off 40 deliveries studded with six boundaries while Abhisekh Singh contributed 23 runs off 19 balls laced with two hits to the fence and one over the ropes. Kousar Ali was the pick of the bowlers for Fairyland High School with a four wicket haul for 40 runs in his six overs while Suresh Ray picked up three wickets for 48 runs in six overs.
