GUWAHATI, March 20 - As part of World Glaucoma Awareness Week, the Doctors� Guild and the west Guwahati branch of Natun Sahitya Parisad conducted a daylong free eye check-up camp in a local high school premises on March 18.
Two groups of eye specialists from the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, GMCH and Pragjyoti Eye Care and Research Centre examined about 150 elderly patients and detected different eye ailments and offered advice.
Dr Madura from GMCH eye department spoke about glaucoma and its prevention. The doctors also examined BP, blood sugar and major factors causing eye problems. Dr Gautam Khaund, Dr BR Bhuyan, Dr Chandan Baruah, Dr Ashwini Kr Das, Dr Satyajit Mitra, Dr Mansi M Mitra and Dr Jyoti Prasad Kakati conducted the camp.
