DIGBOI, May 15 � Two spates of a severe storm lashed Digboi and its neighbourhood in the evening of 13th May last causing lot of damages in the entire area. The storm uprooted a number of trees and disrupted the electricity and the cable TV lines of the locality.
The losses have been more telling in Ramnagar area of Digboi. An autorickshaw is reported to have been damaged by the falling of a tree upon it. However, the driver was saved unhurt. No loss of life has been reported from any part so far. The losses are yet to be estimated officially. The National Highway No 38 was blocked for about an hour because of the falling of trees upon it.
