Extend lockdown, says AAPSU

By Correspondent

ITANAGAR, June 5 - Due to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) today demanded the State Government to extend the ongoing lockdown by at least two weeks to contain the spread of the disease. It also demanded COVID-19 re-tests of all the returnees and random testing of people in the State.

Addressing a press conference here, AAPSU vice president Meje Taku said the State Government should immediately start re-testing of all the returnees to ensure that the virus spread is contained as there have been such cases where people who had earlier tested negative were found positive on re-testing.

The apex student body also said that schools, colleges and other educational institutions should not be allowed to reopen till the situation becomes normal.
