GUWAHATI, March 1 - The National Science Day, 2017 was celebrated on the office premises of the Assam and Nagaland GDC, Survey of India, Lalmati here on Tuesday. The theme of the Science Day this year was �Science and technology for specially-abled persons,� stated a press release here today.
On the occasion, an exhibition was organised by the Assam and Nagaland GDC. Modern surveying instruments like GPS, Total Station Digital Level Machine, etc., and conventional surveying instruments were displayed in the exhibition. Demonstrations of the instruments were also held for the benefit of the visitors.
The video shows on the history of the Survey of India and the Great Arc evoked a lot of interest among the visitors. A map sale counter was also a part of the exhibition. Teaching staff members and students of various city schools and colleges and members of different organisations visited the exhibition, added the press release.
