Exclusive cow hospital opened in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH, Nov 23 - Surabhi Aarogyashala, an exclusive cow hospital, touted to be the first such hospital in the entire North East, has been established within the precincts of Shree Gopal Gaushala here.

The cow hospital consisting operation theatre, separate laboratory, delivery ward, recovery ward and doctors� chamber was inaugurated by active social worker Sunil Agarwalla yesterday on the occasion of Gopashtami.

Nirmal Beria, president of Shree Gopal Gaushala said that it is the first cow hospital in the North East. �The hospital is equipped with treatment as well as surgery facilities. We will soon add X-Ray and an ambulance service so that the hospital staff can provide service within a radius of 30 kilometres at least. We will also have a helpline number so that people can reach out to us for assistance in case of ailing or injured cows,� he said.

The Gaushala committee felicitated the donors who contributed to build the hospital on the occasion of Gopashtami. The Gaushala, located along TR Phukan Road in Chiring Chapori already has about 370 bulls, cows and calves.
