By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 8 - The rank holders of the HSLC, Assam High Madrassa and HS examinations are important components of the States rich human resources, said Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today.

Felicitating the students who occupied the first 10 positions in the recently announced results of the HSLC, HS and Assam High Madrassa examinations, 2019, at a felicitation programme held in the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital auditorium, Sonowal called upon them to work hard to motivate their fellow students and stimulate the development of the State.

The State is proud of having a young band of human resources who by dint of their hard work and academic excellence can tilt the fortune of Assam, Sonowal said. Assam is full of resources, be it natural resources, wildlife resources or human resources. With judicious utilisation of these resources, Assam can swing its fortune and become one of the front-ranking states.

Congratulating the rank-holders, Sonowal said that coming out with flying colours in the class 10 and 12 exams was a testimony of their intellectual superiority and they have to work harder to sustain the momentum.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped the country rediscover the potential of Assam and the other state of the North East. Ever since Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, he announced the Act East Policy to re-establish Indias foreign policy with South East Asian countries, keeping Assam as the centre of attraction. He gave a new agenda for North Easts development by terming it as the New Engine of Growth.

Sonowal said that Modi enabled the Centre to announce several schemes and policies for the development of Assam and the North East, and thus the students need to become ambassadors of the state and work hard to expedite the growth trajectory of the region.

The Chief Minister also expressed his gratitude to the parents and teachers and attributed the students success to their hard work, devotion and dedication. He advised the students to always carry the blessings of their teachers and parents to win the world.

Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya congratulated the students and wished them luck in their future endeavours. Veteran journalist and former Asam Sahitya Sabha president Kanak Sen Deka congratulated the students and asked them to hone their brilliance and become responsible members of society. Stating that the students are the future of society, he asked them to develop their oratorical skills and become responsible leaders in their respective areas. Referring to Modi, whose oratorical skill is appreciated across the world, he asked the students to nurture their oratorical skills and become vociferous leaders of society.
