By Correspondent

JORHAT, June 6 A meeting of the ex-students of Hemalata Handiqui Memorial Institute (HHMI) is going to be organised at the school campus on June 12 to discuss about the golden jubilee celebration of the school.

HHMI, a premier English-medium school of Assam founded in 1962 by late KK Handique, one of the greatest oriental scholars of India, will complete 50 years of glorious existence in 2012.

The institute, during the 1970s and 80s, was among a few English-medium schools in upper Assam and many students from the neighbouring Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh studied in it, besides the students of the State.

To discuss about the celebration and form an organising committee and various sub-committees, all ex-students of HHMI have been requested to attend the meeting to be held at the institute at 10.30 am on the scheduled date.

Any ex-student seeking more information in this regard may contact DK Dutta, principal of the institute personally or over school phone number on all working days, stated a press release.
