SILAPATHAR, Dec 3 - An ex-servicemen rally will be conducted at Likabali Military Station on December 11. The rally is being organised under the aegis of the 56th Infantry Division.

Ex-servicemen, veer naris and war widows from Dhemaji, North Lakhimpur of Assam and Pasighat, Along and Daporijo of Arunachal Pradesh are expected to attend the rally. The opening ceremony of the rally will be graced by the GOC 56th Infantry Division.

A large number of stalls are planned to set up to facilitate ex-servicemen to sort out problems related to their pension, medical and health, rehabilitation, re-employment, banks assistance etc. Felicitation of ex-servicemen and war widows and distribution of gifts and cash awards are also planned as part of the rally.

Doctors of military hospitals will conduct free medical check-up of ex-servicemen, veer naris and war widows. A cultural show is also being organised as part of the event. The rally aims to provide opportunity for formal and informal interaction and address grievances of ex-servicemen, veer naris and war widows.
