Ex Ranji player passes away

DOOMDOOMA, Dec 14 - Former Assam Ranji Trophy player, an employee of Digboi Post Office and a resident of Digboi Jyoti Nagar, Pankaj Tamuli passed away at the Apollo Hospital in Guwahati on Sunday. He was 42.

He represented Assam in the CK Nayudu Trophy in 2001-2002 season and played for Assam in Ranji Trophy in the 2002-2003 season. His body was brought to Digboi today and various organisations and individuals offered their last tributes before his cremation. His death cast a pall of gloom in the sports fraternity of Tinsukia district.

He leaves behind his mother, wife and a son along with a host of relatives.
