TEZPUR, Oct 22 - Former MLA Enamul Haque Lashkar, who was arrested from Guwahati on Monday by the CID in connection with the suicide of a UDA of the Irrigation Department in 2012, was produced before the Tezpur CJM Court today. Lashkar�s bail petition was rejected and was taken on two days remand by the CID.
Irrigation Department UDA Mathur Chandra Nath committed suicide on November 26, 2012, purportedly following alleged anomalies. Nath�s suicide note also mentioned the names of Atul Bhagwati, Dhiren Deka, Trailukya Mauhan Kalita, Dilip Das and Rituparna Bora, apart from three NDFB (surrendered) members.
Meanwhile, replying to reporters regarding his CID remand, Lashkar claimed that he was not involved in this case.
