SHILLONG, May 6 - Stating that Congress party�s credibility has become questionable in Meghalaya, former Minister Manas Chaudhuri resigned from the primary membership of the party today.

Chaudhuri said, he has sent his resignation letter to Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president, DD Lapang.

The former Education Minister was elected twice to the Meghalaya Assembly from Mawprem constituency, first as an Independent candidate in 2005. In 2008, he was re-elected and joined Congress in 2012. He contested the 2013 Assembly election unsuccessfully on a Congress ticket from South Shillong constituency.
