UDALGURI, April 5 The former Bodo militants of the region extended full support to the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) for the forthcoming April 9 second BTC elections. This was stated in a press communiqu duly signed by Patras Narzari, president and Tilson Daimari, secretary of Ex-Bodo Militants Development Committee, at its headquarters here on April 3 last.

Explaining the logic to support the ruling BPF, the press release of the Bodo militants organisation said that the leaders and workers of BPF contributed a lot to the development of the BTAD region in the last five years and people should vote the party to power again to complete the remaining developmental activities in the next five years.

The press release also appealed to all the political parties, organisations and voters in general for a peaceful atmosphere during the election hours on April 9 next so that people could freely exercise their franchise. The organisation also said that no one should threaten the voters or force anyone to vote in favour of some favourite candidate.

The ex-Bodo militants also condemned the physical assault on Jagadish Daimari, finance secretary of the organisation and his friend Chandan Upadhyaya on April 2 last at Golmagaon market by the members of ceasefire faction of the NDFB and demanded the local administration to apprehend the accused persons and award appropriate punishment.
