GUWAHATI, Feb 2 - A fraud, identified as Himan Chandra Medhi, who duped people with fake insurance policies, was last night arrested by Paltan Bazar police.
Medhi, a resident of Udalguri, was picked up from his VIP Road residence here, Panbazar ACP Suprativ Lal Barua said. Using fake seals, stamps and letter heads, Medhi made over Rs 20 lakh by making over 100 fake general insurance policies for gullible people since 2015. He was earlier an insurance agent.
