KOKRAJHAR, Dec 5 - Noted poet, former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) Brajendra Kumar Brahma, passed away this evening at RNB Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar after a prolonged illness. He was 80. Late Brahma leaves behind his wife and two sons.
Brahma was born at Chalani village in 1943 in Kokrajhar district and became the president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha in 2002.
Recipient of several literary awards, including Tagor Literary award, Sahitya Akademi Award, Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity award, Brahma had a major contribution towards Bodo language.
