NORTH GUWAHATI, June 5 � Responding to the repeated demands of the North Kamrup Nagarik Manch at Changchari, the Kamrup (Rural) district administration conducted a series of eviction drives at Changchari. Despite the resistance from a section of illegal occupants of land, the officials, led by the SDC of North Guwahati, Jatin Bora, managed to carry out the eviction drives successfully.
It may be noted here that a section of illegal occupants of government land had set up stalls by encroaching on drains, causing immense inconvenience to the public. The closure of the drains had also led to the problem of artificial floods in the area.
