GUWAHATI, Nov 19 � The Kamrup Metro district administration today carried out a major eviction drive along the National Highway 37 from Veterinary College in Khanapara to Beharbari.
More than 70 illegal shops and other establishments were demolished during the drive, officials said.
Meanwhile, the district administration is continuing with its cleanliness drive along the NH 37 from Khanapara to Jalukbari.
Various illegal parking spots have been evicted during the recent drive in the area. Besides evicting the fish market at
Beltola Chariali, many other markets along the NH 37 were evicted in last
few days.
Work on dredging and widening of the Borsola Beel is also continuing, the officials added.
