Event to inspire, mentor aspiring woman leaders

GUWAHATI, March 11 - Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk-2017 was organised today at the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), an organisation under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in association with the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network.

The Global Mentoring Walk is an event that convenes established women leaders and emerging women leaders to come together to discuss their personal and professional challenges as well as successes.

Speaking on the occasion, Atreyee Borooah Thekedath, flagbearer for the Vital Voices Global Mentoring Walk, Assam, and director of Web.com India Pvt Ltd, mentioned that every year the Global Mentoring Walk flagbearers walk together to demonstrate the importance of women�s leadership.

Dr Sriparna B Baruah, senior faculty, IIE, said the Global Mentoring Walk is an exclusive opportunity to enhance the impact of women leaders through mentoring.

The event this year was marked by the presence of successful women from varied sectors, such as representatives from industries, medical fraternity, academicians, journalists, writers, film personalities, women entrepreneurs from sectors like tourism and hospitality, food, fashion, beauty and wellness, etc, coming together to inspire, motivate and mentor aspiring women, a statement said.
