Event on feedback monitoring in digital communication

GUWAHATI, July 25 - Press Information Bureau (PIB) Guwahati on Friday organised an online interactive session with the students and faculties of the Department of Centre for Studies in Journalism and Mass Communication of Dibrugarh University.

The interactive session was on the topic �Feedback monitoring in digital communication and government functioning�.

The main objective of the event was to make the students aware and enhance their knowledge about how government�s information system works in disseminating information using different means of communication.

�In government functioning, feedback and monitoring are the two essential pillars for mid-course corrections during implementation,� LR Vishwanath, Head of Department, Directorate General of North East Zone, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said in his address.

Speaking on feedback monitoring, Vishwanath said that both feedback and monitoring are the two crucial pillars for ensuring success of any programme. �A properly developed feedback becomes the backbone for efficient monitoring,� he said.

Talking about efficient monitoring, Vishwanath said that it involves transparency at the decision-making level, implementation level and feedback level.

�A strong and effective feedback and monitoring system reflects the intent and integrity of the implementers of any government programme,� he added.

Vishwanath made a presentation on feedback monitoring in digital communication and government functioning on the occasion, which was followed by a question-and-answer session.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Satyakam Borthakur, Professor and Chairman, Centre for Studies in Journalism and Mass Communication, Dibrugarh University, gave a brief overview of the department. He expressed his gratitude to PIB Guwahati for holding such a session for the benefit of the students.

�Such initiative will very much help the students to get ideas and knowledge about various aspects of government functioning,� he said.

Around 50 participants were present at the interactive session.
