GUWAHATI, Oct 24 - A workshop on Smart Sampling Technique in crop cutting experiment (CCE) under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) was held at the Directorate of Agriculture, Khanapara here today.
Sunil Kumar Dubey, Assistant Director of the Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre, New Delhi, who attended the workshop as a national expert, said crop yield information is essential for the PMFBY to work but added that the number of CCEs needed for accurate determination of yields have increased multifold.
Mowsam Hazarika, Asst Director of Agriculture, spoke about the importance of the Smart Sampling Technique in CCE. Bhabesh Kalita and Rajib Das from the Dept of Economics and Statistics, spoke on the use of CCEs for yield estimation. Subhankar Mazumder from HDFC Ergo Insurance Company spoke on the use of PMFBY CCE App.
