Event on becoming eco-literate

GUWAHATI, Aug 3 - The Zoological Society of Assam (ZSA) recently held an international webinar themed �Becoming Eco-Literate: How scientists & the public can better understand each other�, said a press release.

The speaker of the webinar was eminent scientist cum conservationist of USA Dr Laura K Marsh, Director & co-founder of Global Conservation Institute. She talked on the topic with her own experiences using slides and videos.

Participants from different parts of India, USA, UK, Germany, Thailand and Philippines joined the webinar. They included among others, Prof Ramesh Zimbo Boonratana from Bangkok, Thailand; Dr Arpita Roychoudhury from Berlin, Germany and Queen Saikia from University of Leeds, UK.

Dr Deepalee Das, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Zoology, DK College Mirza coordinated the webinar, while Priyabrata Lahkar, president, ZSA inaugurated it with a welcome address. Dr Chhandashree Bhuyan was the moderator and host of the interactive session.
