Essential commodities distributed in Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 9 - Employees of the State government and other organisations in Biswanath district have been distributing essential commodities among the needy. It may be mentioned here that the poor people living in the state have been facing hardship to run their families in view of the ongoing lockdown due to the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 across the country.

Employees of various organisations have been distributing door-to-door essential commodities like rice, potato, mustard oil, dal, milk packets, soap and biscuits.

Police personnel have also distributed rations to the poor people who are struggling to earn a single meal a day amid the nationwide lockdown. Police teams led Ajit Kumar Bhuya, Manik Bormudoi, Shobhan Chandra Das, etc., in the district have been providing a helping hand to the poor.

The Fire and Emergency Services have been supporting the district administration and local bodies such as the Biswanath Municipal Board in disinfecting public places, hospitals, offices and banks.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Dhruva Jyoti Das appealed to the people to observe the lockdown strictly.
