KOKRAJHAR, Aug 2 - An undertrial prisoner who had recently escaped from the premises of a Covid care centre at the RNB Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar was arrested this morning from Lungshun area near Indo-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar district, Kokrajhar SP Rakesh Roshan said.
According to sources, the undertrial prisoner of Dhaligaon PS case no. 112/2020, U/S 376 (D) of Chirang district Sukati Murmu alias Sukala Murmu, son of late Ram Murmu, resident of Shantipara village, PS Dhaligaon, Chirang was admitted to the RNB Civil Hospital, Kokrajhar after testing COVID positive on July 25 last.
He was in Kokrajhar District Jail since July 15. In the intervening night of July 28-29, he fled from the hospital by breaking the window of the verandah. This morning he was apprehended at Lungshun area near the Indo-Bhutan border, the sources added.
