Error-free evaluation sought

By Staff Correspondent

SHILLONG, June 8 - The North Eastern Hill University Students Union (NEHUSU) has alleged that there were discrepancies in allotting marks to several students in the undergraduate examination and urged the authorities to streamline the administrative system. It said that about 300 students from different colleges in Meghalaya, affiliated to the NEHU, have sought re-evaluation of their examination papers.

After re-evaluation, marks of several students have been corrected. They will be issued new marksheets, Rangdajied Marwein, NEHUSU adviser, said here on Friday. He added that the wrong marks were due to human error as well as software discrepancy.

The students body has demanded that the university software should be changed and the process of evaluating answer scripts must be done meticulously.
