ERDF to start academy for differently-abled

GUWAHATI, April 29 - In an initiative of support and care for the differently-abled, ERD Foundation, Guwahati is going to start an Academy called �I Can, I Will�. The Academy will be launched in July this year with the objective to provide training in various fields including sports, to differently-abled youths of 14 years and above and make them eligible for engagement in society.

The initiative of ERDF was accompanied by recruitment of six differently-abled youths hailing from different parts of Assam at various posts at University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) on Friday.

Addressing media persons after an interactive programme with a group of differently-abled cricketers organised by ERDF at Bhetapara, Guwahati, ERDF chairman Mahbubul Hoque said, �We have identified 35 differently-abled youths having qualification ranging from HSLC to graduate whom we will provide facilities of sports, counseling, coaching for competitive examinations and skill based training.�

ERDF would try for the engagement of these enthusiastic youths in different fields at its own institutions. he said.
