NEW DELHI, June 11 � As part of its effort to reach out to formal sector workers and members in Northeastern States, retirement fund body EPFO has upgraded its offices in the region to special State offices.
�The Organisation has upgraded the District Offices/ Services Centres in Gangtok, Imphal, Aizwal, Itanagar and Dimapur to special State offices,� the fund body said in a statement.
These special State offices would focus on special work like compliance monitoring, grievance handling, claims scanning and forwarding, etc.
This shall be of great assistance and convenience to the EPFO members belonging to the States of Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland for availing EPF related services, the statement said.
The Special State Office shall be headed by an Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner level officer and would have an Enforcement Officer and other supporting staff, it said.
The EPFO has over six crore subscribers across the country. It manages over Rs 6.5 lakh crore corpus and receives over Rs 80,000 crore annually as incremental deposits. � PTI
