Not enough research has been done in understanding the utility of cane and bamboo, which have so much potential not just as a raw material for products, but also in our fight against climate change. Both bamboo and cane are highly renewable resources and are strategic resources for climate change mitigation, Bordoloi said.
Ivantage Craft Private Limited, registered under the startup India campaign of the department for promotion of industry and internal trade in 2018, is currently sourcing its raw materials from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Using cane and bamboo as its primary resources to produce a unique line of bamboo fabric and home utility brands, the city-based startup had started its commercial production in its factory located in Tezpur.
As part of our expansion plan, we are planning to set up such outlets in other parts of the country including Bengaluru. The wide range of products would definitely give the clientele their moneys worth, Bordoloi added.
