MANGALDAI, June 11 - Darrang Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah on Thursday ordered a magisterial enquiry into the incident in which the Mangaldai Civil Hospital authority had discharged a COVID-19 positive patient in place of a patient who tested negative.
Talking to this newspaper, Borah said, �ADC Kalpana Deka will conduct the enquiry and I have also asked for an instant report from the district Health department.�
Meanwhile, Dr Gopinath Bora, Superintendent of Mangaldai Civil Hospital, admitted the serious lapse on their part and said, �The lapse took place due to little difference in the spellings of the names of two patients � Hanif Ali and Hamid Ali. Instead of Hamid, Hanif was discharged. But in the morning, we brought Hanif back.�
