GUWAHATI, March 9: Having secured a 3-0 whitewash against India, England womens team skipper Heather Knight was all praise for the infrastructure here as well as the response of spectators in this part of the country.

Talking to The Assam Tribune, Knight spoke highly regarding the infrastructure at the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) Stadium in Barsapara here and also said that the venue is well capable enough of hosting Test matches in the near future.

I have really enjoyed it over here and its a beautiful ground and today the crowd was amazing and a great atmosphere. We have really enjoyed our stay here in Assam.

The ground here is very good and I am sure there will be Test matches soon. Its a lovely place and a lovely ground and would very much like to come back here, Knight said.

The last and final T20I witnessed a turnout of around 18,000 people according to ACA sources.

It is great to see so many people turn out for the matches and show so much interest in womens cricket. Its good to see that how much (womens cricket) it has grown in India and how popular it has become. It is always lovely to play in front of so many people.

Regarding the nail-biting finish which saw them edge past the hosts by one run today, she said: With the crowd behind them, you always feel the pressure but I am happy with the way how the girls responded.

India lost the first T20I by 41 runs before suffering a five-wicket defeat in the second match to hand England the series earlier. India had earlier won the three-match ODI series 2-1.
