BORDUMSA, April 2 - A private contractual rigman was abducted by unidentified miscreants at Innao under Diyun Circle on Monday evening.
The abducted rigman identified as Sanjiv Kakoty was a contractual worker camping at Manabum and was carrying on a work over job at Innao site of Oil India Limited.
According to security personnel engaged in the plant, the victim, hailing from Sivasagar, was going for his second shift duty on Monday evening in a private four wheeler. when he was abducted along with the driver near Pacca Nullah in Gautampur area under Diyun Police Station in Changlang district.
Kakoty normally goes to the work sites with a group in a hired Tata Sumu but due to lack of space, he took a private four wheeler that belonged to a local youth last evening.
�Around forty contractual workers serving under Sivasagar-based Uditya Energy Enterprise have been camping at Manabum in the defunct Oil India Plant at Innao�, informed a worker.
Another worker said that while the driver was released, Kakoty was taken by the kidnappers.
Security forces have cordonned the vulnerable pockets in and around Innao and Diyun for the safe rescue of the victim. The DGP Eastern Range has visited the site to take stock of the situation.
