Emergency management exercise begins

TINSUKIA, Jan 19 - The five-day elaborate training of Emergency Management Exercise began with the inaugural function held at the District Library auditorium here on Monday.

Inaugurating the training programme with lighting the lamp, the Deputy Commissioner as well as the chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Puru Gupta, appealed to the trainees saying that they should attend respective trainings with utmost sincerity and dedication and should gather all the tactics so that in the time of need they would be able to combat the crisis.

The inaugural meeting was attended by the Inspector of NDRF, Rajesh Dutta, DDMA, Tinsukia, Diganta Saikia, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Circle Officers (Revenue) of Tinsukia and Doomdooma, Dhruba Jyoti Bora and Nayan Jyoti Bhagwati, respectively.

The elaborate subject-wise training of hospitals preparedness and emergency management was organized on January 18 and 19 at Civil Hospital Conference hall. The two-day mass casualty handling for nurses and paramedics was organized at the Nursing School Hall simultaneously.
