AZARA, Feb 23 - A 55-year-old farmer was reported killed by a wild elephant at Andherijuli village in Kampur (rural) district under Rani Reserve Forest recently.
The victim, identified as Jogeswar Rabha, was on his way home after collecting firewood from nearby forest for his daughter�s marriage ceremony, sources said, adding that suddenly, a wild elephant attacked killing him on the spot.
Local people alleged that though such tragic incidents are occurring frequently in the entire Rani area, the Forest Department officials are yet to take any concrete step in this regard.
