By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 16 - The Guwahati Municipal Corporation has come to the aid of Priti Rajkhowa, wife of Anowar Hussain, who lost his life while trying to save Pushan Kalita in Tuesdays deluge here.

Both Pushan, a Class VIII student and Anowar Hussain, a painting worker, died due to electrocution near the Assam State Zoo on the RG Baruah Road.

GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania told The Assam Tribune that if she wishes, Rajkhowa would be offered a contractual job in the Corporation as per her qualification.

Anowar Hussain set an example by making an effort to save school student Pushan Kalita, risking his own life. Though unfortunately, both of them lost their lives, Hussains effort was commendable, he said.

A proposal regarding this would be brought in the general body meeting of the Corporation within this month. Old age home Amar Ghar has also proposed to provide shelter to Priti and her daughter, Maina.
