DIBRUGARH, June 3 - The appointment of Rajen Borah and Karuna Mahanta as president and general secretary respectively of the All Assam Small Tea Growers� Association (ASTGA) vide a recent election has been challenged in the court by the organisation�s leaders, namely Gopal Krishna Khound and Rohit Borgohain.
In the Title Suit No. 59/2018 and Misc Case No. 56/2018 in the Court of Munsiff No 1, the petitioners said that Rajen Borah and Karuna Mahanta were illegally elected as president and general secretary respectively in the absence of the organisation�s president Gopal Krishna Khound.
Following the case, the newly-elected members have been asked to show cause in the Court on June 21 next.
